Shane ”The Bull” Breslin (very late 30’s) started training in Jiu Jitsu in October 1995 in the Glasthule dojo.  He has stayed with his chosen martial art since then with the exception of a 3 year secondment to Cork.

Shane achieved his 1st Dan Black belt in August 2004 and has since been awarded his 2nd Dan Black belt.

Having taken part in a number of national events Shane was part of an exhibition Jiu Jitsu team that travelled to Poland in 2002 to demonstrate and teach Jiu Jitsu to an audience of >100 students of the martial arts.

“Learning a martial art teaches you the confidence and ability to avoid conflicts in the first place but also to deal with them effectively should they become unavoidable”  according to Shane.

Shane’s other achievements outside the martial arts include:

  • Lovely wife and two menace kids. (2001 onwards)
  • Playing handball for Dublin (1980’s)
  • Two holes-in-one in golf (1990’s)
  • Batchelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (1988)
  • Master’s Degree in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (1990)
  • Post Graduate Diplomas in:

                  1)      Environmental Impact Studies (1993), 
                  2)      Public Relations (1997) and
                  3)      Project Management (2005).

2009 - Shane Breslin has been promoted to 3rd dan.
